Cait - I Was Never Here

Emerging singer-songwriter, Cait, juggles the uncertainties of life in her new single 'I Was Never Here'. With her airy yet buttery vocals, the Madison, WI native glides over the mid-tempo production from Bryan Phillips as she dives into her introverted ways of wanting to disappear.
'I Was Never Here' is a song that many can relate to, and with the help of songwriter Sophie Simmons, Cait is able to successfully paint a picture of how she feels inside. The single forms an apex around happiness and sorrow, and it pinpoints how people are more inclined to share the successful moments instead of sharing their imperfections/humanity. This is a battle that we see Cait face throughout the record. In the end, it leaves us with the question that if we disappeared today: "would anyone care?" After having this song on repeat the last hour, I will say I'm hooked to the confessional lyrics, and this song has found a way into several of my personal playlists. Cait is definitely someone you want to keep an eye on this year. If you want something to get you through the hard times, Cait has you covered!
Lyrics That Stick:
“Another year gone
Drinking at home,
I didn't tell anyone
My birthday passed”
