Drawing inspiration from early 2000s pop-punk, Kado & BangerOfTheDay bless us with a powerful love song titled ‘I Don’t Wanna Lose You’. The record is an ode to nostalgia and it explores the want to fight for love even when things seem toxic.

With this being my first time listening to Kado, he impressed me with his confessional songwriting that is packed with imagery and storytelling elements. In addition, his vibrato is reminiscent of Post Malone, and his ability to give the song time and space to breathe helps create an easy-moving single that will definitely be stuck in your head by Summer.

In addition to the powerful vocal performance, the production on the single is a highlight for me due to the sweet synths and pop layered sounds meshed together within the beat. I say that because I think it’s great to hear people moving back to using traditional indie/pop drums instead of throwing tons of hi-hats and 808s on more indie-pop-centered tracks. With that being said, this single is a complete knockout, and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for the rising artist. Lyrics That Stick:

“You said, let’s take some time away, this toxic love

Getting really old I think the both of us

Should take some time away”
