Over the last few months I have found it hard at times to find refreshing new music that dares to be different from the status quo. With the industry becoming very oversaturated and social media becoming king for most, it’s difficult to find unique artists at times. However, I get a rush when I find those artists that deliver a breakthrough sound. This week I am happy to introduce you guys to LA-based singer/songwriter happytree.

On his latest single “Don’t Fight It”, happytree fuses hip-hop and house music together into one exceptional sound. The music is daring and it sounds like what Drake should have delivered on his latest project. Anytime you fuse hip-hop and house it needs to be done in a way that is appealing and dynamic. For me, happytree does a splendid job. With co-production from Jack Laboz, the rapper gets into his bag with his laidback smooth flow and fun-filled energy. Overall, the song is perfect for top down drives down PCH. With that being said, stream the song below and vibe out.
