Kasai - Drunk Diary, Weed & Liquor

I don’t know if it’s just me, but I have seen a rise of musical talent coming out of Europe into the mainstream. Although I know some of the major bands and artists, there have been a lot of artists emerging out of the UK with immense talent. As of recent, I have stumbled upon rising R&B singer Kasai. With her new offering ‘Drunk Diary, Weed & Liquor’, she proves that she should be recognized with the best in her genre.
Kasai has a very unconventional sound but you can tell that she is bringing her own original style to R&B. The single is laced with many different elements, and you can tell that she pulls from so many genres. She has a very present vocal and has an angel-like feel that sometimes reminds me of a young Tinashe. At the same time, there is also a very attractive edge to her sound and that is what stands out to me. Her vocal range is sublime, and I am very excited to see her continue to grow.
Lyrics That Stick
“I'll be on my own way proudly
You don't really love me
Liquor hittin', here we go again with you
So I'll be on my own way proudly”
