Mesmerizing, sensational, and groundbreaking are all words that describe my favorite up-and-coming artist, Daphne Jane. With roots that trace back to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, the emerging singer-songwriter has been captivating listeners with her innate ability to craft sensible records that hit close to home. Her sound is nostalgic, and it reminds me of the indie-pop hits of the late 90s and early 2000s. She’s a blast from the past but she has this ability to make it feel fresh. Now, she debuts on our pages with her latest single “Months”.

Sonically, the record is laced with lush melodies, captivating guitar riffs, and a hook that’ll make you want to ride around with your best friends. It’s lighthearted and it has this comforting feel that’ll make you want to embrace the now. For me, this is the perfect summer indie-pop song, and it’s a great introduction to Daphne’s discography. “Months” blends new bedroom pop sounds with classic indie guitar riffs for a modern yet timeless appeal, and it features story-telling lyrics, catchy melodies, and a fun spark that sets it apart.
