It isn’t often that an artist captivates me as a listener but emerging singer-songwriter, Iman Jordan, may be my new guilty pleasure. Although his solo career is just taking off, as a songwriter, he has been behind major artists such as Rihanna, Alicia Keys, & DJDS. In addition, his EP ‘We’ve Met Before’ peaked at #3 on the iTunes R&B charts under his former artist name, Mateo, so he isn’t new to being a successful solo artist. Now, he debuts on our pages with his captivating new single “Come My Way”, and it has been stuck in my head the last two days.
"Come My Way” is a chill and romantic song, influenced by his recent travels around the Caribbean, Central America, and West Africa. It infuses Alternative R&B melodies with afro-latin rhythms and guitar. The DNA of this tune is starlit beaches and good vibrations. Overall, the sonics on this record are so colorful, and the production is laced with bright vocals, lush melodies, and lyrics that will keep you engaged.
