Chow Lee’s “Sue Me” Deluxe Paves the Way for a New Direction in NY Drill

Since the untimely passing of Pop Smoke, NYC drill has transitioned from bass-heavy, atmospheric instrumentals and punch-in flows to teenagers sampling pop and r&b hits while smoking every opp in a 5-mile radius. However, as ruthless and captivating as artists like Kay Flock, B Lovee, and Dougie B have been, NYC drill is in need of a more melodic side and Chow Lee provides that.

The deluxe for his project “Sue Me” acts as its own project wielding 11 songs, none of which come from the original project. This is a bold move for an up-and-coming artist, but armed with features from close friend and multi-hyphenate Cash Cobain, among others, Lee delivers an array of different vibes that give drill music a fun twist.

Whether it be “RN” which details him vibing discretely with a sneaky link or “Vibey” which features twinkling production and romantic lyrics, Lee offers something for rap fans in every corner of the genre.
