Always Never - Intoxicated
By: Trevor Siebold IG/Twitter: @musicbytrev
We’ve been absolutely loving the stuff Always Never has been putting out this year, and their new one, ‘Intoxicated,’ is no exception!
The way those first vocals start the song off, and transition into the hook is incredible. Anybody who wasn’t paying attention before this song comes on definitely would be now. And don’t get us started on the beat drop at the the 38 second mark… crazy! As ‘Always,’ the lyrics, melodies, and production are miles ahead of what most artists are doing right now. Okay, this new Mariah the Scientist visual will ‘Always n Forever’ be a perfect vibe. Not to mention how amazing this song is, or the fact that Lil Baby hopped on it, or the fact that people still seem to be sleeping on Mariah. Either way, this is exactly what we all needed right now!
The love, community, and joy portrayed in this video is enough to mess with it in the first place. Everybody, including Mariah, is smiling the whole time - especially when they win the lottery in one scene! This whole video and song just feels like the classic RnB we’ve been missing out on for awhile.
You definitely need to go give this video a watch if you haven’t yet. You won’t be disappointed!

Zoom chats are something we’re all used to seeing at this point, so this video taking place on one is both hilarious and genius. The fact that Alec King finds himself in that “chat with hot singles near you” banner is all to real.
It’s also a plus that the song itself absolutely slaps! Alec King has been on a tear this year and we’re excited to continue watching the climb!

It’s the middle of summer, COVID-19 is still ruining everything, and this song is exactly what we ‘need’ right now. ryster just came through in the clutch by giving us all something to sing, dance, party, and possibly get in our feels to.
All of the layers and melodies throughout this song are crazy. It feels so full and so smooth at the same time. Not to mention the impressive lyricism and flow that’s carried between both ryster and 637godwin’s verses! Go turn this one all the way up and vibe out today!

Whether you play this track in the car, the shower, or on the warm beaches of ‘Malibu,’ it’ll be sure to have you singing and dancing along! Lucus just blessed us with a perfect song to ride out the rest of summer to.
That hook is extremely catchy! It’s probably impossible to listen to this song and not have it stuck in your head afterwards. All the sounds and textures that compliment the main melodies throughout are so unique as well; they really bring it to the next level. Go rock out and give this one a listen if you haven’t!

Jeremy Zucker - supercuts
By: Trevor Siebold IG/Twitter: @Musicbytrev
Whether you play this one in the car, in the shower, or at your local ‘supercuts,’ it’ll be sure to have you singing along! Jeremy Zucker, after recently releasing his debut album, is back again with this absolute vibe.
We love Jeremy’s storytelling ability; it’s one of the reasons so many people connect so deeply with his music! That talent is on full display with this song, as he brings us through a journey of breaking up and running into his ex’s mom at Supercuts. It’s so specific, which makes it all the more vulnerable and raw.
We’re loving the short period of time between drops from Jeremy Zucker! Go give this one a listen ASAP.
Lyrics That Stick:
“At least I never lied
Still I’m always the bad guy
So much for being nice”
mike. - been thinking
By: Trevor Siebold IG/Twitter: @musicbytrev
Formerly known as Mike Stud, we were definitely not disappointed by this new song from mike., who seems to have ‘been thinking’ about a lot lately. Either way, that thinking led him to writing this beautiful track and we’re thankful for that!
A sound that’s much different from his earlier work, we think he hit the gold mine. As an artist, the ability to adapt and change your sound over time is so important. It’s obvious that mike. has that skill, shifting his focus to this more stripped back, vulnerable sound.
We hope to hear more like this from mike.! Go give it a listen and vibe out today!
Lyrics That Stick:
“Do you want me still
Babe keep it 100
I don’t know what I want
But I want something”
Arizona Zervas - NIGHTRIDER

If you need an example of consistency and hard work paying off, Arizona Zervas is your guy. The dude literally has no ‘off’ switch! This new one, ‘NIGHTRIDER,’ is everything we needed for a summer weekend vibe.
The guitar progression and layered bass, claps, and vocal harmonics build up this beautiful instrumentation that Arizona absolutely killed. We dare you to listen to his melodies and not sing along… it’s impossible! With sounds reminiscent of ‘3 Nights’ by Dominic Fike and vintage west coast acoustics, this track is a perfect mesh of chill, yet youthful vibes. Go give it a listen if you haven’t yet!
Lyrics That Stick:
“You left your old man
Baby let me slide in
You got a past
Girl you know I got some mileage”
J. Cole - The Climb Back / Lion King On Ice (Single Pack)
By: Trevor Siebold IG/Twitter: @musicbytrev
On Tuesday, J. Cole announced he’d be releasing two singles leading up to his album, which is still unfinished currently. All we can say is, those two singles got us way too hype for the album. ‘The Climb Back’ and ‘Lion King On Ice’ are unsurprisingly miles ahead in terms of lyricism, flow, creative direction, and societal impact. Then again, that’s just J. Cole for ya.
We love that these sound like OG J. Cole from ‘Friday Night Lights’ or ‘The Warm Up’ but with his current wisdom and life-experiences. We’re so excited to continue listening to these and witness this album roll-out. Will this be J. Cole’s best body of work to date? Only time will tell.
Lyrics That Stick:
“I got blood on my hands
I ain’t gon’ lie
I got mud on my shoes
I ain’t gon lie”
Souly Had - LEAP!
By: Trevor Siebold IG/Twitter: @musicbytrev
This may or may not be the grooviest track we’ve heard all year. Souly Had has been one of our favorite artists to watch over the past few years, and he’s literally ‘LEAPING’ over everyone else with the release of this masterpiece.
That bass, and those melodies, and that vocal cadence… oof! Not to mention how dangerously catchy that hook is. It’s like all these things that make a song great got together in Souly Had’s head and decided they’d hang out on this song with each other.
We’ll be bumping this one nonstop all summer, and once you hear it, you will be too!
Lyrics That Stick:
“Everybody leaves, eventually
And I know I can’t change you
I just want peace”
remy - nobody said it was easy but they didn’t say it would be this hard
By: Trevor Siebold IG/Twitter: @musicbytrev
When someone told us to listen to this track, they said it be hard, but ‘they didn’t say it would be this hard!” Sorry for the lame jokes. What’s not lame is how fire these remy tracks have been this year, and this one is no exception.
We absolutely love how each song from remy has its own story being told. This song specifically feels so relatable, yet it’s poetic to the point that the listener can create their own idea of what message exactly is being conveyed.
We could relax and listen to this song on repeat for hours… seriously. You’ll understand once you listen to it! Hats off to remy yet again.
Lyrics That Stick:
“You throw cash that you shouldn’t spend
Just as long as you’re payin the rent”
THEY. - Play Fight (with Tinashe)
By: Trevor Siebold IG/Twitter: @musicbytrev
If you all were ‘Fighting’ over the song of the summer, the debate will be settled once you ‘Play’ this one. THEY. and Tinashe are both artists we think deserve more recognition than they get, and this song is a perfect example of their talents.
Next time you invite bae over, you better play this song! It’s perfect for those moments with your significant other where you just want to have fun and laugh with each other. It’s honestly hard not to smile when that hook comes in… or for the entirety of the song for that matter. Go give this one a listen if you haven’t yet!
Lyrics That Stick:
“You stay runnin’ your mouth
You stay getting me started
And love when I shut it down”
Benny Mayne - I AINT SHIT
By: Trevor Siebold IG/Twitter: @musicbytrev
We’ve seen examples of honesty and self-awareness in a lot of music, but nothing quite compares to Benny Mayne in this new one. Not only are the lyrics amazingly blunt, but it’s incredibly catchy as well!
The ability to write lyrics so personal while incorporating catchy melodies and hooks is super slept on. This definitely isn’t new to Benny Mayne, which is why so many people are drawn to his music song after song. We’ll definitely be bumping this one for awhile, and singing along too! Go give it a listen ASAP.
Lyrics That Stick:
“I lost my mind in California
These LA girls, they do the most”
DJ Khaled - POPSTAR (feat. Drake)
By: Trevor Siebold IG/Twitter: @musicbytrev
Is Drake the biggest ‘POPSTAR’ of our time? Over a decade of hits and he still yet to miss. DJ Khaled and him went absolutely nuts on this one!
The way both Drake and Khaled continuously change their sounds over time should be a lesson for all artists - versatility and willingness to adapt are two of the most important things to remember.
It’s songs like this one that you know will be enjoyed all summer, quarantine or no quarantine!
Lyrics That Stick:
“B*tches callin’ my phone
Like I’m locked up nonstop
From the plane
To the f*ckin’ helicopter (yuh)”
Jay Ham - Backwoods & Banjos
By: Trevor Siebold IG/Twitter: @musicbytrev
‘Backwoods,’ ‘Banjos,’ and this song right here is exactly the summer vibe we need right now! Jay Ham isn’t new to meshing the likes of hip-hop, pop, and alternative rock in his music, and this song is the perfect display of that talent.
The plucked guitar layered with that crisp, yet smooth vocal cadence on the hook caught our attention right away. All the textures and background sounds definitely don’t go unnoticed either - it’s the little things that turn a good song into a great song, and this is a great song!
We really think Jay Ham has the potential to be an A-list musician very soon, and once you hear this track, you will too!
Lyrics That Stick:
“I reminisce on them days
When I would roll through town
Working minimum wage
But that couldn’t hold me down”
Woody Pond - clothes
By: Trevor Siebold IG/Twitter: @musicbytrev
Banger Of The Day OG, Woody Pond, has been one of the most consistent artists we’ve seen dating back to the Soundcloud days even. The fact that he’s been able to grow and adapt his sound over time while maintaining high-quality, undeniably good music is very rare. This new one, ‘Clothes,’ is a great display of that versatility and flat out talent.
Be careful, or this one will be stuck in your head all day! The melodies and scene-setting on the hook is beautifully executed. Lyrically and melody-wise, the verses are super dope as well. We love all the different switch-ups and harmonic layers throughout them; stuff that definitely isn’t new to Woody Pond. Go give this one a listen if you haven’t yet!
Lyrics That Stick:
“She don’t know her lane
But she switch those up
She don’t know his name
But I guess so what”
