Palomino Blond Drop Their Captivating Sophomore Album, “You Feel It Too”

Daring, captivating, and mesmerizing are all words that describe up-&-coming independent rock band Palomino Blond. With roots that trace back to Miami, the band has taken the industry by storm with a sound that evokes raw emotions out of their listeners. Consisting of Carli Acosta (guitar/lead vocals - they/them), Emma Arevalo (drums/vocals - she/they) and Peter Allen (guitar - he/him), the band has garnered attention due to their nostalgic records that have a DIY-ethos and engaging guitars. Although I’m new to the band, I find them so refreshing. In a time where most music feels formulaic and emotionless, Palomino Blond continue to make records that will make you fall in love with music again. Their tracks have flair and an energy that is unmatched. Now, they enter or pages with their sophomore album, “You Feel It Too”.

“You Feel It Too” is an 11-track masterpiece that I would consider to be the band’s magnum opus. The bands growth and maturity as musicians & vocalist can be heard from start to finishing. To add to the exceptional performances, the songwriting was a chef’s kiss. Sonically, as a Smashing Pumpkins fan, I would consider this a lush reinterpretation of “Siamese Dream”. I loved how they even incorporated Miami bass sounds and electronic elements to really expand the sound. This album was a team effort, and the band worked with some talented people to bring out their sound. I want to give a special shoutout to Ryan Haft (engineer), Jonathan Nuñez (of Torche), & Dan Coutant (mastering).

My favorite songs were “Machine”, “Last Forever”, “It Kills Me”, & “How Could This Be”. I feel like those songs give an overall feel of the band’s sound. Once again, Palomino Blond is a force to reckoned with, and they deserve to be heard. Stream their album below and vibe out!
