Hailing from the Bay Area, the 6-piece rock collective, Wreckless Strangers, have taken the music industry by storm. They are raw, daring, and they have a captivating sound that will evoke pure emotions out of their listeners.  Wreckless Strangers features Amber Morris on vocals; David Noble on lead guitar, vocals; Joshua Zucker on bass; Austin de Lone on keys, vocals; Mick Hellman on drums, vocals; and Rob Anderson on guitar. Together, they are a force to be reckoned with. With years of experience in the music industry, members of Wreckless Strangers have worked with Elvis Costello, Miley Cyrus, Peter Rowan, Highway Wolf, Bonnie Raitt, Ismay, Boz Scaggs, Fabulous Thunderbirds, Olivia Wolf, Laurie Lewis, and more. Now, they enter our pages with their latest EP, “Blue Sky Fantasy”.

The 5-track EP is carried by warm instrumentations & a flair to keep you coming back for more. Known for their “Bay Area Gumbo” sound, the music blends elements of contemporary blues, funk, and a bit of flavor & unpredictability. From start to finish, the EP had a chokehold on me. From the rich sounds of the instrumentation to the exceptional songwriting, “Blue Sky Fantasy” is everything you want in a project. The music is dynamic, and the vocal performances were top tier. With production from 4x GRAMMY award winning engineer/producer Dave Way (Aretha Franklin, Fiona Apple, Tracy Chapman, Prince, Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, Sheryl Crow), the album is a sonic masterpiece.

My favorite song from the project was “Lost Souls”. “Lost Souls” is the centerpiece and most memorable song from the EP. The record is laced with engaging guitar riffs, dynamic percussion, & the vocals were a chef’s kiss. With songwriting by Bill Champlin and Bruce Gaitsch, this song is amazing on all cylinders. Also, don’t get me started on the background vocals from Bill and Tamara Champlin. Everything about this record is perfect, and this album deserves a listen. Wreckless Strangers have landed, and their latest EP needs to be in the airwaves. It is refreshing, creative, and the vibes are perfect for this time of year. With that being said, stream the EP below and vibe out!
