Hailing out of Arizona, emerging singer and songwriter, Zac Greer, has been taking over with his ability to craft vulnerable alt-pop singles that have infectious hooks. Over the last year, we have kept a close eye on him and he hasn’t disappointed. Greer has an innate ability to put his whole self in his music and that makes it all so appealing. He Initially got our attention with his EP “headaches” and he hasn’t looked back since. Now, he is back with his latest project, “when things were fine” that truly displays his progression as a singer and a songwriter.
When I went to listen to the album, I was amazed by the sonics on the production and fell in love with the cohesive sound. In addition, Greer really tapped into his singing and we were able to truly see his range as a singer. Our favorites have to be “melatonin” & “finish line”. For me “finish line” really stood out due to the upbeat production and the bright vocal mix. Greer’s vocals really shined on this one and I thoroughly enjoyed him getting out of his comfort zone and expressing more raw emotions in the lyrics. In addition, the hook on that one is so infectious that it’s been stuck in my head the last two days. As for “melatonin”, that was the initial single that really turned me into a die-hard Zac Greer fan. At that point, I could see Zac was starting to put more time and effort into his production, and he was beginning to allow his songs the chance to breathe and really express more to the listener. I loved the strong guitar riffs, lush melodies, and the vulnerable lyrics on this one. Overall, the project is strong all the way through and Zac Greer proves his star potential. With that being said, go stream this project right now.
Favorite Song: finish line
Lyrics That Stick:
“That we could still be more
And I could still be yours”
