With Drake’s upcoming album ‘Certified Lover Boy’ still in the works, the 6-God decided to drop 'Scary Hours 2’ that includes 3 new songs for his craving fan base. Although we were told initially that the album would drop weeks ago, his producer 40 insists that it will be finished within the next two months.
‘Scary Hours 2’ consists of ‘What’s Next’, the Lil Baby assisted ‘Wants and Needs’, and ‘Lemon Pepper Freestyle’ featuring Rick Ross. The songs are all solid, and this is a great sign for fans that have been patiently waiting for the upcoming album. When it comes to the new tracks, my personal favorite has to be ‘What’s Next’. The song is a boastful attempt by Drake to continue separating his success from every other artist in the industry. At the end of the day, when it comes to accolades and records, what has Drake not accomplished? Although this is the stand-out song for me, the rapping and lyricism on ‘Lemon Pepper Freestyle’ is hard to overlook. We get to see the more vulnerable rapping we have seen on projects like ‘Take Care’ and ‘Nothing Was The Same’. Overall, this was a great 3-pack to release before the album, and I can say that we are all excited for this new album.
Favorite Song: What’s Next
Lyrics That Stick:
”Soon as you give 'em your soul
You blow up and they say you sellin' your soul, okay
Thеy want my life exposed
Thеy wanna know about the highs and lows”
