Niko Rose Doesn’t Miss With His Latest Album “honeydoo”

When it comes to rising music artists, there are only a few that can truly bring you into their own world. A world where they invite you into their inner thoughts lyrically and sonically. For me, one emerging act that does that is Niko Rose. The Arizona-based singer songwriter has this exceptional ability to captivate listeners with his easy-going aura matched with his beautiful song arrangements and sensible lyrics. His dreamy-pop soundscape takes you into a world of wonder with every listen. Now, he returns to our pages with his infectious new album, “honeydoo”.
“honeydoo” isn’t like most projects due to how cohesive it is. The album is endearing, catchy, and often relatable through its 13-song journey. In addition, Niko has this mesmerizing allure that will put you in a trance with every listen. I look at this album as modern therapy, and I just can’t stop listening to it.
When it comes to my favorite songs off the album, I would have to say “medicine”, “sunburn”, & “white whale”. “medicine” is an alluring track that blends the realms of indie rock and lo-fi rock. Like most of the records, it has an atmospheric ambience that will pull you in from the beginning. In addition, it is laced with lush melodies, captivating sonics, and lyrics that will break down your walls. Although we covered “sunburn” months ago. The single is a hazy masterpiece that is full of lush melodies, mesmerizing synths, and a cozy ambience that will make you feel like you are floating. His vocals are otherworldly and will make you feel every word he is saying. It is the perfect song for the summer. Another track we have to highlight is “white whale”. The record has a lo-fi style feel that matches with his crooning vocals. It’s a vibey record that makes you forget everything going on around you. It’s the perfect song to decompress to. Regardless, of which song stands out to you, this is one of the most complete albums I have heard all year.
Overall, Niko is one of the most exciting artists out, so make sure to catch the wave before it is too late.
