At only 10 years old, Aanvi . S has proven that she has an innate ability to craft infectious records that will pull at your heartstrings. With her exceptional vocal range and her mature songwriting, she has cemented herself as an artist to watch for 2023. In my opinion she may be the biggest pop act we have seen out of New Zealand since Lorde.
Despite her young age, Aanvi is determined and serious about her music career. She has released two original songs, "Music Is My Religion" and "I See You Now," with the latter gaining recognition from former prime minister Jacinda Ardern. Now, she debuts on our pages with her beautifully crafted EP “Emotions”.
Working with Dan Antunovich and Scott Seabright at Auckland's Parachute Studios, her debut EP Emotions is a promising poetic collection, and it gives a promising new voice to the younger generation. For me, the EP stands for personal growth and empowerment. Sonically, the production is uplifting and begs for listeners to be inspired. This along with her dynamic arrangements and eloquent songwriting makes every song feel like a positive therapy experience. The EP is light-hearted, innovative, and fun. In "Light," Aanvi boldly declares her intention to forge her own path and create her own destiny. The song's infectious melodies and upbeat tempo serve as a reminder that we all have the power to take control of our lives and follow our dreams fearlessly. "Speak Up" is an anthem of self-empowerment, urging listeners to find their voice and fearlessly express their beliefs and convictions. With its empowering lyrics, the song stays true to one's principles. Although those were my standouts, the whole project deserves a listen. Aanvi . S is truly breaking barriers and I can’t wait to see her continue to excel. For anyone with dreams of becoming a music artist, Aanvi is pioneering a movement that shows that you can do anything despite your age. Stream her EP “Emotions” below.
