melotheory Deliver Their Captivating Self-Titled Album, “melotheory”

If you are a fan of genre-bending artists that blend elements of indie-pop, disco-funk, rock, and retro styles, then look no further. melotheory is a dance pop-duo that are ready to make their way into the mainstream.
Coming from humble beginnings, Austin,TX-based duo, melotheory, have taken the industry by storm. The duo is made up of genre-bending producers Patrick Insull and Austin Pedersen. Together, they are raw, relatable, & their sound evokes raw emotions out of their listeners. For me, the duo are pioneers of this new generation of artists that are captivating audiences with their ability to produce genre-bending hits. Although it’s hard to pin down their genre, I would consider their sound to be sad-boi indie rock infused with disco rhythms. After impressing me with their single “Breathe”, they debut on our pages with their latest slef-titled album “melotheory”.
“melotheory” is an exceptional 10-track album that is carried by lush melodies, expansive sonics, and dynamic elements that will have you hooked from start to finish. I consider the album to be a sonic journey that you won’t want to end. My favorite records from the album were “Breathe”, “Tonight”, & “A World Away”. “Breathe” dance record that has indie-pop undertones that shine through. Laced with funky electric guitars & acoustic drums, the sonics allow the vocals to elevate the record. The tracks arrangement does a great job in building the track as it progresses, and I appreciate their attention to detail. “Tonight” is a record about seizing the day. I loved the colorful production and the vocals & songwriting were second to none. “A World Away” is a disco-pop song with elements of r&b that provides a refreshing feel to the album. The song has a swagger that is easy to connect with. Overall, this album is captivating and one of my favorites this year. With that being said, stream the album below and vibe out!
