Captivating, raw, and innovative are all words that describe emerging independent artist K-Rym. After leaving Syria for France in 2015, he has continued to grow his musical talents. He dove into sound engineering while in Paris, and he is also known for his photography & videography. Personally, he is one of the most talented and well-rounded artists I know. With years of experience under his belt, he is ready to step into the limelight with his latest EP, “D-Boy Love”.
“D-Boy Love” is a 10-track masterpiece full of dynamic and rich sounds. The EP dives into themes of general love, and the love for one’s country. K-Rym’s raspy vocals gave each song a warmth that’ll make you feel at home when listening. In addition, this is some of his best songwriting to date. His ability to convey his feelings and evoke raw emotions out of his listeners can’t be overlooked. K-Rym really raised the bar with this project, and I consider it to be his magnum opus. From his cadence selection to the production, everything was a chef’s kiss.
“D-Boy Love” was recorded at Red House Studio, and a majority of the creation process was done K-Rym him alone. K-Rym did the mixing, songwriting, performing, video editing, and he made the album cover. He is a one-stop shop full of talent. As a Syrian refugee, K-Rym lives in France, but he sings in English. However, he always pays respects to his home country. He worked with a Syrian beatmaker on “Can’t Let Go” and “Scared”. He talks about his country Syria on “Robbed” and how his childhood and memories were robbed from him. Overall, K-Rym’s love for hip-hop and his ability to make it have made him one of the most impressive artists out right now. This EP is a testament to his ability. With that being said, stream it below and vibe out!
