Hailing out of Seattle, emerging singer and songwriter, Dempsey Hope is here with his new EP “I hate rollercoasters” that will definitely leave you impressed. Over the last years, he has been building his fanbase over youtube by doing covers and creating content with his childhood friends. Eventually he took a more serious approach towards making his own music and linked with seattle based producer Jake Crocker to craft his own sound and released a few songs that gained a good buzz.
When I went to listen to the EP, I was amazed by the sonics on the production and fell in love with the cohesive sound. In addition, Dempsey really tapped into his singing and we were able to truly see his range as a singer. Our favourites have to be “Skip Curfew” & “Plug my ears”. For me “Skip Curfew” really stood out due to the upbeat production and the bright vocal mix. Dempsey’s vocals really shined on this one and I thoroughly enjoyed him getting out of his comfort zone and expressing more raw emotions in the lyrics while he reminiscences about the past. In addition, the hook on that one is so infectious that it’s been stuck in my head the last two days. As for “Plug my ears”,I have been playing that song every night in my car as I cruise around town at midnight and I’m aboslutely in love with the sound of it. Overall, the project is strong all the way through with meaningful songwriting and the perfect production to go along with it, Dempsey Hope proves his star potential. With that being said, go stream this project right now.

“You got stuff to do
Me too
We’re up way past curfew”
