All The Stars Align For Trust The Mask On Their Captivating New Album “Idiom”

In a time where real connection seems scarce, the search for music with intention has been in the forefront for listeners. For me, I believe that music should give you a sense of meaning and belonging. There should be a sense of mental attachment you feel when you listen to a song, and that said song should bring a feeling of euphoria. Although it is hard to find music like this in a saturated industry, I recently came across an album that has changed my perspective. That album is “Idiom” by the emerging duo Trust The Mask.

Trust The Mask are made up of singer Vittoria Cavedon and multi-instrumentalist Elisa Dal Bianco. Based in Venice, their connection goes back to 2020, and they have been successfully complimenting each other musically ever since. With their innate ability to craft infectious music, they have been garnering a following with their experimental brand of electronic music that brings in various instruments to create an exceptional sound. Now, they debut on our pages with their latest album “Idiom”

“Idiom” is an electric synth-sploration, and it has been one of the most innovative albums of 2023. It is bold and when you immerse yourself in it, you are bound to have a greater appreciation for what Trust The Mask are doing musically. When it comes to the most memorable or impactful singles, I would have to say Juniper, Frontier & Spring take the cake. “Juniper” was the lead single of the album and it details the internal revelations whilst dealing with the “conscious end of a relationship”. Juniper is an awareness, a journey into the thoughts of those who have realized that their love story has been based from the beginning on false and weak foundations. This musical journey then moves to “Frontiers” which blends processed vocals, industrial elements, the evocative sound of Cambodian monks and a bright vocal hook that lifts the track exactly when needed, it’s about looking around you and embracing those all-important connections to the world.

As far as my favorite song from the album, “Spring” is up there. Sonically, I love the buildup and the record takes you on an emotional journey from start to finish. The vocals are warm and I loved the synths. When it comes to crafting a cohesive album, Trust The Mask have the cheat code. They didn’t play it safe and that paid off for them big time. Overall, the album is rich with beautiful sounds, and it is laced with symbolism and expression. So, if you are looking for new music, stream the 12-song album below!
