Guinevere Shares Her Groundbreaking Debut Album, “TO ALL THE LOST SOULS”

In today’s music industry, I feel like everything sounds the same. Everyone is either riding the same trends or they are creating songs with little substance. As an art form, music needs to be expressive, and there needs to be an identity behind the artists/bands that are making it. In a time where music feels formulaic and emotionless, I continue to search for artists/bands that are pioneering this next generation. Regardless of monthly listeners and hype, all I care about is the music. What story are you trying to tell? What sets you apart from the rest of the industry? Do I connect with this? These are all questions that I try to answer when finding new artists. This week, I came across rising singer-songwriter Guinevere.

Hailing from Italy, the multi-talented singer, songwriter, and producer has continued to captivate listeners with a sound that evokes raw emotions out of her listeners. Blending elements of new folk-rock, pop, and classical music has allowed her to craft a sound that is unique and moving. After catching my attention with her groundbreaking EP “Running Circles”, she enters our pages with her debut album “TO ALL THE LOST SOULS”.

“TO ALL THE LOST SOULS” is a reflective album that dives deeply into themes of grief, loss, mental health, and perseverance. As someone who is currently dealing with the grief of my girlfriends passing, this album became a beacon of hope for me. Over the rich & dynamic sounds, Guinevere’s vocals provided a warmth that I found comforting.  Sonically, this is some of the best production I have heard this year. From the textures to the overall pacing, this was an incredible debut from the burgeoning star.

My favorite songs were “Letters From A Body” & “Wintersick”. The way she was able to convey her raw emotions throughout this album was admirable, and it proves that she has so much more to give as an artist. If you’re looking to end your year on a high note, stream this album below!
