Futuristic - Still on the Rise (Album Review)

The first time I ever heard of Futuristic was after ‘The Rise’ dropped in 2015, so I was absolutely ecstatic when I heard that he was going to follow it up with a sequel. With a couple of strong singles to lead the way for it, I had very high expectations for the already proven rapper.

Lucky for all of us fans, he did not disappoint at all. He delivered on every level, with every track sounding completely different from the one previous. He has club bangers and deep soul-searching songs (for example, ‘Soul Searchin’) and about everything in between. Although surrounded by a bunch of killer features, the overlying message on the album is that Futuristic really can rap. He’s been proving it for years and continues to do so as his wordplay, speed and flow is up to par with the most elite in hip hop today. Even if you haven’t liked his previous stuff, I highly recommend you check out this new album.

“Ayy, still the greatest

Way richer than was ever famous”
