Coming from humble beginnings, Ojai, California-based artist, Fletcher Reed, has taken the industry by storm. With a sound that blends elements of lofi & r&b, Reed has crafted a sound that is polarizing. If you haven’t heard of Fletcher Reed, you have to be living under a rock. Now, he debuts on our pages with his captivating 6-track EP Changemymind.

“Changemymind” is Fletcher Reed’s magnum opus. It’s a testament to his growth as an artist. Known for making comforting lo-fi beats, his latest project focuses on the vocals, with memorable verses from Portair, Bryonii, CHUFI and more. For me, the project is laced with lush melodies, soulful grooves, and sonics that will keep you entertained from start to finish. As a music blogger, I will say that this album is a trip-hop paradise. It’s a sonic journey that you won’t want to end. This is what Reed had to say about the EP:

"Creating this project was a new exploratory chapter in my production handbook,” shares Reed on the upcoming EP. “I've wanted to move away from a traditional 'lofi' sound and begin to explore a deeper connection with the music, one that I thought could be built by adding vocals to chill instrumental. The project's various vocalists allowed each track to take a different shape and inspiration - with tracks ranging from R&B, vocal downtempo, and even bedroom indie.”

“Changemymind” is carried by 6 explorative tracks that include vocal features. This is a massive departure from his earlier projects that were instrumental based. My favorite songs were “Anymore”, “Sleepwalking Again”, & “Lucid Luv”. “Anymore” is a catchy single that features captivating vocals from LA-based singer ALANA HIL. I loved the production layers and overall performance on this record. “Lucid Luv” was the standout song sonically, and I enjoyed the vocals of UK based singer/songwriter Bryonii. “Sleepwalking Again” is laced with lush pop elements and Portair shines on the record. Overall, this is one of the best projects I have heard this year so stream it below!
