Evan Page Shares His Debut EP, “In The Front Seat”

In today’s music industry, it is very rare that I come across an artist that stands the test of time. Although I can blame it on oversaturation, I feel as if artists aren’t connecting to the listeners like they used to. Growing up, hearing a new song from your favorite artist was euphoric, and it served as a timestamp to one of the best moments of your life. When it came to the music, the songs and albums were pure and there were no shortcuts taken. From the sonics to the vocals, music was alive and well. Though I sometimes get lost in the blandness and plastic sound of today’s industry, there are a few artists that are still releasing groundbreaking music. I recently came across an exceptional artist that goes by the name Evan Page.
Hailing from north Idaho, the 16-year-old indie-pop musician has taken the industry by storm. He is electrifying, raw, and captivating. The multi-instrumentalist is trained in piano & guitar, and his unique sound blends elements of mainstream pop, folk, and indie rock. After discovering his single “days” in 2022, I knew he was destined to be a star. His ability to take real life experiences and relay them in his songs makes him so personable. Because of that, his songs evoke raw emotions out of his listeners. Now, he enters our pages with his debut EP “In The Front Seat”.
The 5-track EP is a masterpiece, and it shows Page’s growth as a songwriter and singer. His development is otherworldly, and his songwriting has become more sensible & personable. Drawing influence from the likes of FINNEAS & Ashe, you can feel the emotion in each song. Sonically I found the EP to be cohesive although he explored various topics that range from living life in the moment, embracing uncertainty, and showing resilience through bumps in the road.
My favorite tracks from the project were “80 Degrees”, “I Tried”, & “Where It Starts”. I feel like those songs perfectly show Evan’s unique sound, and I found myself relating to those the most. If you want an idea of who Evan is as musician & singer-songwriter, these songs are a clear indication. Overall, the entire EP is an introduction into a burgeoning star.
