DMGDZ Release Their Groundbreaking Album, “DMGDZ”

Emerging hip-hop duo, DMGDZ (Damaged Goods), has taken the music industry by storm. Compromising of west coast rapper Grizzy Wynter and producer Matt Wav., the duo has captivated audiences with a sound that is dynamic and engaging. Drawing influence from UK drill music, they have found a way to fuse elements of Dancehall lyrics, EDM sounds, raw UK bounce, and reggaeton flavor to create a wholly unique and memorable sound. For me, they are what the industry has been missing. In a time where everything sounds and feels the same, DMGDZ are breaking barriers. Now, they debut on our pages with their latest self-titled album “DMGDZ”.
“DMGDZ” is a transformative album that I consider to be the duo’s magnum opus. Over 7 well-crafted tracks, the duo delivers songs that are a testament to their hard work and perseverance. Sonically, each sound is laced with captivating basslines and the vocal delivery from Grizzy is exceptional. The chemistry between rapper & producer is evident from the first listen. Listening to the album is like hearing two geniuses rally of ideas and executing on those said ideas. There is nothing like it.
When it comes to the music, my favorite records were “ENDZ TO ENDZ”, “DROP”, & “SOLO”. “ENDZ TO ENDZ” features Ghanaian artist Will TOA and it is absolute madness. The song enters with an eerie intro before the rappers go back and forth with fierce verses. I loved the energy and the bassline had me going crazy. This is the kind of song that will make you want to run through a wall. “DROP” is laced with brooding synths captivating verses in English & Spanish. This song truly shows the versatility of the duo, and you can see their ability to make engaging drill music. “SOLO” is my personal favorite. The track enters with a melodic r&b esque sample that is exceptional. I loved the wavy sonics and the synths and basslines were game changing. “SOLO” is a cinematic song about rising to the occasion and living out your dreams. Everything about this song is pure. From the verses to the incredible hook by Sienna Samuel, “SOLO” is the standout record on the project. It’s the ultimate chef’s kiss. Overall, this is one of my favorite albums and I hope you stream it below!
