When it comes to music discovery, I’m always searching for artists or bands that create songs that people can connect with. As a writer, I have been in the industry for a long time, and there isn’t a better rush then listening to an artist or collective that gives you goosebumps. The feeling of being heard and hearing your thoughts from someone else can’t be explained. It’s a high that I always set out to find. However, with the oversaturation of the music industry, it gets harder and harder to find these genuine acts that are pushing music in a progressive direction. Everyone cares more about image and virality. Although this stands to be true, there is a new artist that I believe has the “IT” factor. His name is Dallas Busha.
Dallas is a career musician that has a background in playing with rock bands. After years of cutting his teeth in punk and metal bands, the rising artist left for greener pastures to begin his solo career. His leap of faith seems to be paying dividends. With a sound that can be described as a mixture of experimental soundscapes & ear-worm hooks, he continues to captivate listeners with his infectious sound. Now, he makes his grand entrance on our pages with his latest EP “A Moment Trapped in Amber”.
“A Moment Trapped in Amber” is more than an EP, it is a sonic experience carried by dynamic records that showcase Dallas Busha’s versatility. The project is daring and unconventional. Over the 5-tracks, Busha enlists Bernardo Yacono, Tom McCluskey, & Jess Townsend to bring his ideas to life. The ensemble cultivates an innovative sound that you won’t want to end. My favorite records were “House of Change” & “Champagne”. Overall, this is one of my favorite projects of the year. So, make sure to stream the project below and catch him on the road in a city near you.
