Corm!! Takes Us Back To His Roots On His Self-Titled EP

Corm!! (A.K.A Dr. Jason Cormier) is one of the most polarizing artists that I’ve seen in recent years. By day, he is a renowned neurosurgeon, but he spends his free time creating otherworldly hits that soundtrack the lives of many of his listeners. He is a versatile artist that draws inspiration from the likes of Run DMC, Steve Aoki, DJ Diesel, Diplo, T-Pain, and Jazzy Jeff to name a few. His sound is unorthodox, but that is what makes his growth as an artist unmatched.

The Louisiana-based artist isn’t new to the industry. With several years of experience that started back in his high-school days, he has lived up to expectations and embraced his role as a music industry innovator. Now, the eclectic producer lands on our pages with his impressive self-titled EP “Corm!!”. The EP features 3 genre bending EDM remixes of modern country hits. As someone who doesn’t particularly rate country, Corm!! had me hooked on this project. The project felt like a testament of growth for the rising producer. Corm!! allowed his listeners a chance to embrace his Delta roots.

The project opens with a cover of Jason Aldean’s 2010 hit “Dirt Road Anthem”. If you are a fan of Aldean, I can tell you now that this is a must-hear record. Corm!! connects with Nashville duo Boomtown Saints to cover the Colt Ford & Brantley Gilbert written single. With their ability to transform the country single to a progressive house jam with elements of hip-hop, I knew I was in for an incredible project.

Corm!! then introduces listeners to country crooner and LGBTQ activist Ty Herndon on their inspirational hit “Till You Get There”. The record is laced with infectious melodies, tropical vibes, and an ear-worm hook. The record closes with an anthemic pop mix of Boomtown Saints’s 2022 single “All Trucks Go To Heaven.” Overall, the EP is worth a listen. Regardless of your personal genre tastes, Corm!! has truly impressed me, and I can only appreciate how good this project is. With that being said, stream the record below and vibe out!
