Cigs Inside Deliver Their Highly Anticipated Album, “BlickyBlam”

Hailing from the Pacific NW, emerging electro-hop trio, Cigs Inside, are taking the industry by storm. Known for their unconventional yet captivating sound, they are one of the most polarizing acts at the moment. Their soundscape is innovative, and it blends elements of pop, alternative, hip-hop, and electronic into one exceptional sound. Cigs Inside are daring, and they challenge the norm. Carried by progressive song arrangements and lush melodies, their songs take you on a sonic journey that you won’t want to end. Often, it feels as if you are floating when you listen to their songs. Although they are still maturing as an act, they enter our pages with their impressive new album “BlickyBlam” through their label Mishap Records.
“BlickyBlam” is an 8-track magnum opus that puts the trio’s versatility and talents on full display. Sonically, they combine electro-pop and hip-hop with breakcore and R&B to establish a sound that swings between modern while making nods to the nostalgia of generations before. For me, the project is about facing the realities of one’s decisions and living in the moment. Life is short, and this album is an adrenaline rush of emotion that focuses on the aftermath of taking accountability of living recklessly and facing insecurities.
My favorite songs from the project were “Don’t Know Where To Start” & “High Steppin’”. “Don't Know Where To Start” is a bouncy record that is laced with engaging synths, prolific bars, and the hook is otherworldly. Sonically, I loved the arrangement and breakdowns that helped build the story of the song. From start to finish the trio deliver one of their punchiest songs on the album.
“High Steppin’” is my personal favorite. The record is laced with heavy drums and bass that add to the explosive kick. High energy to its core, the record is an electro-hop masterpiece. Cigs Inside have proven that they have the “IT” factor, and this project is nothing short of great. So, stream the album below and vibe out!
