Over the years, there have been several artists I have seen grow into stars from my college days. One artist who has impacted me the most is Quinn XCII. I remember hearing his project ‘Change of Scenery’ in my second semester of college. His music was the soundtrack to our spring break, and he forever left an imprint on our lives. Almost six years after the EP, Quinn delivers his highly anticipated album ‘Change of Scenery II’. After initially finding out about the project, I was ecstatic because I fell in love with the production and songwriting from the original EP ‘Change of Scenery’.
On the first listen, I was blown away by the cohesiveness of the project. I think the album really brought Quinn’s grassroots feel back into perspective, and it was a great choice to bring no other than multi-talented producer ayokay back to establish the sound. Although this album is a continuation of his EP that dropped in April 2015, the storytelling and bright production will have you wanting to listen to this throughout your summer. As of right now, my current favorites are ‘We Don’t Talk Enough’, ‘My Wife & 2 Dogs’, and ‘Mexico City’. If you are looking for a new album to dive into, we suggest you listen to this!
Favorite Song: My Wife & 2 Dogs
Lyrics That Stick:
”One half loves me, the other half is my enemy
One half thinks I'm an angel, the other thinks I’m demonic
My money stretchin' like human centipede
I go make a deposit like almost every week”
