German Alt-Rock band, Aedon, has taken the industry by storm with their captivating sound that pushes the boundaries of modern music. They are progressive, raw, and they have sonically pleasing records that are carried by relatable lyricism. Made up of Simon Gatzka (main vocal, guitar), Maximilian Krüger (guitar, backing vocal), Stephan Nabbefeld (drums), Alexander Dachwitz (bass, backing vocal), the band has continued to show us real music is still alive. Now, they enter our pages with their latest EP, “Raise Your Voice”.
“Raise Your Voice” is an explorative album that takes listeners on a sonic journey over 3 exceptional tracks. The EP dives into themes of friendship, love, loss, and Weltschmerz. Sonically, the records are carried by lush melodies, engaging instrumentation, and hooks that are otherworldly. For me, Aedon achieve the perfect blend of energy, lightness, and melancholy across these three tracks. With production from Peter Keller and Bertram Engel, the EP stands as a timeless project built for this new generation of music lovers.
My favorite records were the title track “Raise Your Voice” & “Gentle Rain”. Motivational at it’s core, “Raise Your Voice” is carried by larger than life guitars and exceptional vocals. “Gentle Rain” was the standout song for me. Although I’m not huge on ballads, the record evoked raw emotions from the introspective lyricism. Sonically, this was the best record on the project. Overall, this is one of the most impressive EP’s I’ve heard this year so stream below.
