After the success of DaBaby, it seems like there is a big magnifying glass on the music scene in the Carolinas. We have been introduced to many rising acts like Toosii, TiaCorine, and Stunna 4 Vegas. Now, Columbia, SC native, Pyrex Pryce, proves his ability to become a household name with his new single ‘Used to This’. The single is driven by trap drums and Pryce’s intoxicating melodies. In addition to releasing the song, the 16-year-old rapper also delivered a visual to accompany the record.

The Khari McCloud-directed video starts with the young artist rapping in a bedroom, while his girl abuses drugs that he won’t do. McCloud’s color grading is perfect for the vibe of the song, and the dark undertones help drive the emotion that is felt within the confessional lyrics. Although the video is simple, the transitions are smooth and the overall feel of the video is a great presentation of the hard-hitting song. If you are looking for a new artist to get into, stream Pyrex’s new single and watch the video above.

Lyrics That Stick:

“I took a month off I still got it

White girl to the right she pill-popping

I don’t do that shit”
