Just when I thought R&B couldn’t get any better at the moment, I came across rising Washington, DC singer/songwriter melan. melan is someone that has been unknown to me until today, but her soothing vocals and mature production had me keeping her new single ‘Soul Stream’ on replay.

In addition to releasing her captivating new single, she released a music video that is just as compelling. The Ieva Sopaite-directed visual has a very nostalgic feel due to the VHS effects and out-of-focus shots. With its quick transitions and hazy feel, the video perfectly embraces the vibe we feel from the song. Although the video comes 5 months after the initial release of the single, the video creates a level of momentum that she can take into her next release. melan is on her way to becoming a star, and we are very excited to see her growth over the next year.
