Tik Tok is a crazy, crazy place. It’s built a reputation over the years of having the ability to change artists lives practically over night. Due to this perception, you see millions of people pouring their hearts and souls out on the platform, and only a few breaking through to find that high level of success off the platform. For pop-punk singer, Gayle, that success was originally found with her single “abcdefu” which garnered millions of streams and turned her into an artist to watch for. However, an opposing view point about finding success on Tik Tok is questioning an artists longevity after finding that success. In this case, Gayle has silenced that question in a massive way with her new song + video, “sleeping with friends”, and showed the whole world she’s here to stay.
From the first shot of the music video, Gayle gives off a superstar energy that shows there’s a lot more in store for her. “sleeping with friends” is an anthem for those who excel in making relationships but struggle in committing.
