Hippo Campus Hit A Homerun With Their New Visual For “Semi Pro”

When it comes to emerging bands, Hippo Campus has to be our favorite at the moment. Hailing from Minnesota, the indie-alt band initially caught our attention with their EP Good Dog, Bad Dream and we have been hooked since. There is something about their energy that is contagious, and their new song “Semi Pro” further proves their exceptional talent.
The bands new record features searing sunlight-tinged synth lines and contemplative self-aware lyrics. It's accompanied by a baseball themed video, starring front-man Jake Luppen as the burnt out slugger on team Hippos. Overall, "Semi Pro" is about the liberation that comes from making peace with stepping away and recognizing the ways being tied to your craft can really mess with your head.
