Marcus Charles Has Us Hooked On His Visual For “In / Out”

Although the music industry is more saturated than ever, I still find pleasure in discovering groundbreaking artists with the potential to really disrupt the industry. This week I was blessed to come across buzzing singer-songwriter Marcus Charles. Charles is a dynamic talent that comes around only once in a lifetime. Destined to lead an era of his own, his cut-above perspective and unique vision is unapologetically pushing against the grain. After originally impressing me with his Shade 45 freestyle and his new EP “HRG Trailer”, the rising artist debuts on our pages with his visual for “In / Out”.

Though the record came out last year, the visual comes right on time with the release of his EP “HRG Trailer”. From start to finish, the visual will have you captivated. The color grading is exceptional, the camera angles are perfect, and I really enjoyed the overall pacing in comparison to the song. This is what Marcus had to say about the song:

“Although a looming theme of indecisiveness and self doubt birthed this record, it sings more like a stream of consciousness. It's the rattling of thoughts during a dark hour, the trailer to a meltdown. True to its nature, this song almost was never made. While laying down the chords, I almost scrapped the idea when someone in the studio with me at the time told me I'd be crazy to do so. That's why to me, it's a reminder not to overthink and to move forward through action when belief in myself wanes.”

Overall, this is one of my favorite songs heading into the new year so if you are looking for new music, check the visual out above and stream his new EP!
