If you have ever been stabbed in the back or let down by those closest to you, Carlie Hanson’s new single ‘Gucci Knife’ is the perfect single for you. The song explores a person having to come to terms with someone exiting their life abruptly and the feelings that come with the loss. With a feature from rising artist MASN and eerie production, the single is upbeat and haunting all at once which mirrors the mixed emotions the person may feel due to losing someone close.
In the Nicholas Jandora-directed video, Carlie is seen in a motel filled with axes, knives, and other tools as she expresses her feelings with a thunderous sky in the background. The video later transitions to MASN singing in front of the motel with Hanson as the rain pours on them. The visuals are some of the best I have seen this year, and the cinematic touch and narrative scenes within the video have me hooked. If you have some time, stream the video above.
