Man, we all have those nights out where we were wishing our date was sober, because they be acting foolish! Conan Gray, man oh man, you killed this song from beginning to end and we were so along for the ride even though you were SO OVER the rollercoaster!

The music video contained these vivid shots capturing everything so upfront and personal. Conan wanted to get out of that house party as fast as he could, but he was stuck unable to leave, because every door was locked tight! It really reminded us of Alessia Cara’s first hit ‘Here,’ with the same kind of premises behind it. Conan took on a different route being with someone at the house party, but wanting more from that person than to be stuck at a lame ass party with them all night.

The way the night progresses within the lyrics alludes to Conan’s date loving the atmosphere and being deeply enthralled into the party and his feelings then fading, because they seemingly want different things. Each verse and the hook are so electrifying and catchy making you want to say “Fuck it” and just do your own thing like Conan. Hey, if only he was Sober!
