Bay Area R&B singer, Thuy, teases fans with her new single ‘chances’ off her forthcoming debut EP. The single features emerging LA R&B singer DCMBR. Together, the two artists create a soulful song that reflects on a past relationship. The verses are structured well, and the chorus is intoxicating enough to captivate listeners. In addition to the release, Thuy also released a video to accompany the single.
The Tristan Custodio visuals are simple, but they do a great job in developing the atmosphere for the song. Custodio’s color grading is amazing, and the hazy feel injected into the visuals gives it that premiere R&B feel. In addition to the effects and overall feel of the video, the story-line is what stands out the most to me. Throughout the small clips in the visualizer, we see Thuy reflecting on a relationship where she gave someone too many chances. In the end, she was the one burnt by giving this significant other the benefit of a doubt. However, with the way her career is going, that person is going to be very mad they took advantage of her! With that being said, go watch this video ASAP!
