Although people say comparison is the thief of joy, I have recently come across an emerging artist who sounds like all the best qualities of Frank Ocean & Brent Faiyaz. For those that are wondering who that artist is, his name is Brandon Lott. Brandon Lott is an Alternative R&B and funk musician that crafts a sound that meshes modern & old-school influences. With roots that trace back to the state of Indiana, Lott is not new to the music industry. With years of experience, he has been pushing to make a breakthrough in his own way. Now, he debuts on our pages with his latest single “GLASS” that features the talented Dauphin Amir.
“GLASS” is an exceptional record that feels like it could have found a home on Frank Ocean’s “Nostalgia, Ultra” mixtape. There’s this rawness to the overall sound, and the hook will have you wanting to run back the highs from past relationships. Lott proves he will be a household name, and Dauphin Amir was the cherry on top that took the record over the finish line. This was a very moving single and it has me yearning for more. Although I’m new to Lott’s sound, this was a great introduction, and it has me excited to hear his upcoming EP. With that being said, stream the visual above and vibe out!
