Adanna Duru Keeps It Real On Her Bubbly Single “if i was a boy ;)”

Adanna Duru is an artist that NEEDS to be in your rotation. With roots that trace back to Nigeria, the California raised artist is what the industry needs right now! She is genuine, raw, and her music is relatable. It’s rare that you find star potential in an artist early on, but Duru has “IT”! Now, she enters our pages with her latest release “if i was a boy ;)”.
“if i was a boy ;)” is the first single off of her upcoming EP NAPPY HOUR II (dropping late 2023). The single is quirky, fun, and it’s perfect for the internet age. Although there is a bubbly feel to the record, it does tackle and discuss a bigger theme. Drawing inspiration from Beyonce's "If I Were a Boy" and Ciara's "Like a Boy”, Adanna wanted to create a song about what women commonly go through in relationships.
"This song is about letting out all those feelings of being mistreated or being taken for granted by men in my life. I wanted to make a song that was super fun and spoke to feelings that all women go through in relationships (wanting to treat men the way they treat us)" – Adanna Duru
