After a year hiatus of releasing music, Thinkbenjamin. is back in exciting fashion for the unveiling of not just a new track, but a whole new artist. I got the chance to sit down and chat with him about this release and what it means to him, and it’s clear just how passionate and hopeful he is about what’s to come.
I was honestly in awe the first time I heard the song. Leaning more towards hip-hop styles in his past, this indie, punk rock performance feels both completely new and completely perfect. Over the past year, Ben explained to me the growth he’s experienced as a person and the healing he’s had to endure from a previous relationship. Mentioning that this song specifically was so special to him, Ben expanded by telling me how releasing ‘XOXOXO’ feels like letting go of that past hurt. It serves as a goodbye to the old him and the pain he’s experienced. In a way, this song is a celebration of who he is now and all that’s to come for him mentally and musically!
I was also so intrigued by how intimate and vulnerable the songwriting was. Ben told me about finding inspiration in artists like Travis Barker and Blink-182 to begin crafting his new style around. I loved hearing about how dedicated he is to exploring this new genre and crafting a sound that’s just as unique as it is genuine to him. I have a feeling once you hear this song, you’ll understand my excitement for this artist’s future! Stream ‘XOXOXO’ if you haven’t yet.

P.S. baby girl I hate you”
