We’re trying to remember the ‘Golden Rule’ they used to teach you back in the day… was it, “listen to this song the way you’d like to be listened to?” No? Well either way, Nate Rose and Mick Jenkins just blessed us to the max with this masterpiece.

The way the spacey, vibrant hook comes in at the beginning with Mick’s crisp-as-a-cold-winter-day voice leading the charge is nothing short of wonderful. The way those drums are EQ’d quite literally gave us life. Even more life-giving were Nate Rose’s vulnerable, incredibly-personal verses. It’s lyrics and flow like that that make us excited about the direction of hip-hop!

Serious hats off to Nate Rose for continuing to be his authentic self in everything he puts out. Go give this one a listen if you haven’t yet!

Lyrics That Stick:

“Vacation 2014 not a lot of fun

Long drives in my head

The depression crept up with the setting sun”
