One really cool thing about music, or art in general, is that it doesn’t really have any rules. You can make it as unpredictable as you’d like, and that’s what keeps it so entertaining and addictive sometimes. That’s exactly the case here for Buppy. and Shy High on their new song “WTDWTS”. They use a lot of new school elements to interpret the classic boom bap style in their own flavor.
This blend of new school and old school reminds me of a futuristic Beastie Boys. They do a great job at keeping your mind and ears fully engaged through confident flows, smooth melodies, and unique ear candy in the production. This song is perfect for riding around with the homies, or kicking it at the crib. They don’t try to be anything they’re not, and it pays off.
