What do you get when you mesh Brent Faiyaz and Drake on production from The Neptunes? You get the song of the summer. On their new single ‘Wasting Time’, the trio delivers a smooth euphoric bop that offers different introspective takes on commitment during the summer.
On the single, we see different perspectives from the superstars. While Brent takes a more wholesome feel as he discusses wanting to waste his summer away with his girl, Drake discusses wanting to stay away from attachment. Sonically, the song has everything you would want in a Neptune’s produced record, and Brent and Drake craft one of my favorite singles of the season. With this being another release for Drake, we can only imagine how Certified Lover Boy will sound like.
