Arizona-based singer-songwriter, Drew Harvey, has been an artist we have kept a close eye on due to his ability to craft singles that mesh emo-rap and R&B into one intoxicating sound. With his moody vocals over modern hip-hop inspired production, Drew has continued to push the boundaries of what to expect from R&B. Now, he is back with his infectious new single “Trying” that is a co-release with Systemic.
The single was produced by Southern Beatz and it features Harvey’s unique vocals and lush melodies. Although the song is very warm production wise due to the smooth guitar riffs and emo-trap beat, Harvey crafts a song that is centered around the difficulties and consequences of not being open and sincere in a relationship.
