Los Angeles has always been one of the biggest staples for artists to start their budding careers in the music industry. However, when the artists get there, they learn that they are a small fish in a big pond and that everyone around them is trying to get on. This can cause creatives to develop imposter syndrome or even forget why they even truly came to the city of dreams. In his new single “Truth Is”, Mikey Ferrari details his account of moving to LA and how personal growth allowed him to get out of his own way as a singer/songwriter.

The song is very introspective and it is led by lush melodies and a chorus that will surely be stuck in your head after its runtime. “Truth Is” is everything you want in a track, and I love how the record is on a constant incline from start to finish. The production is smooth and the lyrics are so raw that you will feel like you really know Mikey by the end. With this being my first introduction to Ferrari’s music, I can say that he has gained a new fan. Make sure to shoot Mikey a follow and stream his new single below!

Lyrics That Stick:

'‘Truth is, I can’t pay my bills

Smoking weed and I’m popping pills

I dropped at school, cause I ain’t too smart

But the truth is, I ain’t got no car”
