If you have ever felt caught up in the vicious cycle of being stuck in your mind, you’re not alone. The feeling of being in a mental state that doesn’t allow you to be your true self is a hard mindset to shake. Often, this forces us as people to deal with the deepest forms of depression. On his latest offering “Lost & Lonely”, Trey Schafer discusses depression, mental health, and the uncertainty of not being in control. The record follows his last single “Look Me in My Face”, and it is the second single off of his upcoming EP “Tsunami Eyes”.

Laced with warm acoustics and his trademark vocals, Trey keeps it real as he discusses the mental battles he’s currently facing. The record is raw, and it will surely evoke raw emotions. This is arguably his best written record to date, and I loved the sonic progression as the song went on. To me, this record feels like a much-needed therapy session due to how connected I am to it. Trey has continued to put out exceptional music, and I can’t wait for his project that is set to drop in September. Until then, press play on this below and enjoy one of the best emerging artists at the moment.
