Ai Bendr is an Australian-born and Michigan-raised singer/songwriter that has captivated listeners all around with her unique brand of R&B. At only 18-years-old, she has made a habit of piecing together soothing R&B elements and using it to sing stories of emotional turmoil and success. On her new single “The Deep”, Bendr pens an introspective single that traces the beginning of drug addictions.

The single is soothing and led by soft murmurs across a spacious beat. However, through the airy sonics, Bendr pleads for help while her voice reaches for the light in all the darkness surrounding her. Although it is faint at times, we can tell Bendr wants things to get back to normal, and she is hopelessly trying to reach the surface once again. The single is raw and one of my favorite tracks this week, so make sure to add it to your playlists!

Lyrics That Stick:

'‘She always lead me off the edge,

She tells me lay back”
