Recently, it feels as if punk rock is having a resurgence within popular music due to the numerous records that use elements of a once-forgotten sub-genre. With his rock-esque choruses and guitar-driven records, outsideOUTSIDE has been an artist that has been on our radar for a while now. In his new record ‘Someone Else’ he brings all the feels with a fast tempo emotional record that will surely be stuck in your head after it ends.
outsideOUTSIDE’s music is very innovative due to his ability to marry vibrant nostalgia and emotional fluidity all into one sound. In ‘Someone Else’, the rising star gives a confessional piece on identity crisis. He discusses the harsh reality of everyone around him wanting him to be someone else. This is highly relatable because we have all experienced that in some shape or form regardless if we realize it or not. In life, so many people have different expectations and parts of us they like, and this song pinpoints the aftermath of realizing you can’t be perfect for everyone. Overall, this song is well written and it’s a song that you will want on repeat.
Lyrics That Stick:
“Seems like everywhere I go
That no one knows who I am”
