Sol - “Oh Yeah”

With his second release of 2020, Sol is attracting two types of attention. The first is new buzz, listeners finding his music for the first time, only to be surprised that his catalogue goes back and back and back. After making the rounds on a national tour and having an album clear millions upon millions of streams on multiple platforms, Sol fell off the grid, touring the world with nothing but a canvas bag.
The second type of attention is hunger from long-waiting fans. Since his career started in the early 2000s, Sol’s discography has expanded bit by bit with several-year-long gaps in between major releases. After sparse releases throughout the last decade, it looks like we’re going to see his second album in two years. As a new fan I can’t wait to dive into everything i’ve missed up to now, because “Oh Yeah” is truly a treat to listen to. Nima Skeemz and Elan Wright do a superb job of giving Sol the production he deserves on this song. The flows are immaculate and weave deftly in and out of the beat. Get to listening.
Lyrics That Stick:
“Police want beef they can have it
we might just teach them some manners
I got dirt on my shoulder
I shake you like dandruff
it makes a Van Gogh and HOVA
turn you to paint on my canvas”
