Growing up in the early 2000s, I was exposed to many different genres that influenced me over the years. Although I was exposed to an array of music, punk rock was what stuck with me. There was something about the high-energy production and rebellious lyricism that made me feel like I was apart of something bigger. When I listened, I felt heard. Over the last couple of years, we have seen a huge influence of punk rock in modern-day music, and many artists have taken a swing at it. However, 44Blonde seems to get it right with his debut single ‘She Loves Drugs (I Like Her)’.
‘She Loves Drugs (I Like Her)’ is an ode to the early 2000s, and it features a guitar-driven instrumental with a powerful vocal performance. 44Blonde’s lyricism is confessional, and his raw melodies will have you belting on those early morning commutes from start to finish. With production by Reed Hoelscher, the electric instrumental allows 44Blonde to give an introspective look into this one-sided relationship that he is currently in. He actively expresses that even though he likes this girl, the girl is interested in everything but him. Although this is the only song 44Blonde has released, he shows a lot of promise with this debut. 44Blonde has the ability to craft compelling songs that are fun and infectious at heart. With that being said, shoot him a follow and go stream his debut single!
Lyrics That Stick:
“Call her V6
Cause she always got her top down
She a freak
And she always wanna come ‘round”
