august Brodie is an up and coming artist based out of Canada and his newest single “regret this in the morning” featuring Elko will definitely leave you impressed. august is influenced by a variety of genres, and in this song he sings about the aftermath of a breakup in a relationship and how he currently feels, while Elko expands on the same as he sings about how he didn’t mean to hurt his partner from the opposite perspective. august has been in the game for a while now and I can definitely see him paving his own lane as an artist with the sound he’s created for himself.
The production on the track works perfectly for the song as it compliments the vocals and songwriting really well. Those hard hitting 808’s paired up with an emotional guitar melody create a modern Pop-Punk sound. I personally love it when artists get candid and talk about their personal experiences, that paired with good production and a catchy hook, I feel this song is a straight hit. I think anyone who appreciates modern Pop-punk music would love this song.
This song is definitely going to be on repeat for awhile. august brodie’s musicianship and songwriting abilities are going to make him shoot onto the mainstream scene anytime now, so check him out before then!
